Ashley and Troy {Backyard Wedding}

Ashley and Troy may have had the best backyard tented wedding I have ever been a part of.  They didn’t miss a single thing.  I’ll let you view some of the details below, but first, their story.

I met Ashley and Troy just a few months before their wedding.  They were home visiting family, but at the time were living all the way across the country, working full time and going to school.  How they pulled this amazing wedding off, I’ll never know!  Although their family helped, I know final decisions were all Ashley and Troy’s.

This DIY wedding looked like it was professionally styled.  The ladies in Ashley’s family have immense talent!  Ashley and her family members took care of the centerpieces, all of the flowers, the favors, the decor and the planning.  Ashley made the invitations.  And, it’s fall in New England, so what’s better than apples and apple cider as a favor!?

The bridal portraits were so much fun!  First, Ashley had two different shawls that she wore as the evening went on.  Poor Ashley had this gorgeous sleeveless gown, and the temperatures were about 20 degrees colder than usual!  But, with all the different outfits, we got lots of variety for them!  And, when we got our night time portraits, we used one of the fires that her uncle so diligently kept going all night!  Secondly, her parents’ home is so beautiful, that we were able to photograph inside the house and all around the yard outside.  You see that light!!!  swoon!  And thirdly, of course- the bridal party!  Sooooo much fun!  We laughed so much taking pictures!

Guess what else?!!!  Troy had a little surprise up his sleeve for his new bride.  He sang to her.  Boy oh boy can he sing, too!  It was so romantic and the best gift ever!  Speaking of romance, let me tell you a little about this book you’ll keep seeing.  Troy proposed by hiding a ring in the book she was reading.  Awwww  How sweet is that?!  Adding to this, Troy and Ashley couldn’t decide whether or not they were going to do a first look.  So of course, they compromised!  A first look no look!!!  What a great idea, right?!

You can see their sneak peek here and I’ll let the images tell the rest of the story.

Ashley and Troy, thank you for trusting me with your wedding photography.  I am honored that I got to be a part of your day.
